The more I learn about those Brontes, and the more of their works I read*, the less I like 'em.
*it doesn’t take much- just two and a half books!

I might get busted by the moderator for bringing up something unrelated, but I just had that experience with David Copperfield. I loved the first half and then I wasn’t liking the second half as much. Then I learned about Dickens, and, by the time it was done, I was completely turned off.

My husband was just telling me something about Dickens & how he treated his wife (which I’d heard a bit about from The Bookening guys). It does make it hard to enjoy his books.
