I read Vice President Pence’s letter also and was very impressed. He has carried himself well. He has showed political savvy as well.
Agreed - it seems to me that he has walked away from his own Presidential ambitions in order to do the right thing.
I wouldn’t be so sure. From what I can see, Pence has navigated the post election environment very carefully and wisely. He’s been careful not to challenge President Trump or his claims head on, but he also has not endorsed those claims. He has simply done his duty to the letter.
Pence has been navigating carefully because he is thinking of his political future. Whether this will pay off for him in the future, I do not know. Pence is not the first man to be burned by Donald Trump despite Pence’s own personal loyalty. Jeff Sessions was another. I feel sorry for both men. They deserved better.
