A quote from Tom Wright I’ve come across lately that (I think) illustrates the challenges we have: “Unity is easy if you don’t care about holiness. Holiness is easy if you don’t care about unity”.
Could we fairly say that if this is true of unity, it is true of solidarity as well? As Abraham Kuyper said of his own countrymen, “Put two Dutchmen together and you’ll have a church, but put three Dutchmen together and you’ll have two churches!”
