Maybe the shortcomings don’t bother me because I’m bringing Job into the book when I read it. But I guess me having to bring it in means the book wasn’t doing the job inherently.
I love Chanticleer because he’s like distilled masculinity… including the warts. And I liked hanging out in the world.
