Saga 1.6 Endgame, Part 1

“Greetings, friend.” It’s so deliciously creepy. Hide your kids, hide your wife. He is such a creeper. Props to Ben for creating a very convincing, shiver inducing character.

I’m confused about the Chasteens. I had thought of them as sane, kind, just quirky.

But they were a weird at the mall – I didn’t think they would go all lovey in front of a man who’s life is falling apart.

I’m guessing that we are seeing some seeds for saga 2.

I don’t think Brandon and Anna ever “go” lovey dovey. I think it takes them some effort to come out of it. The degree to which that is a weakness that will come into play is an interesting question though…

I don’t think I’ll be able to listen to “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” the same way ever again

Thursday is only (counts on fingers…) (okay I can’t count right now) TOMORROW!

I’m not sure which was more heartbreaking – Matt’s refusal to acknowledge his knowlege/culpability or Erica’s full-on attack on her daughter. As a father, it might be the former, particularly in that I had some hope for Matt. (Or maybe, Matt’s failures are more relatable to me, so when I hope for him to succeed, I’m partially hoping that I would succeed in a similar situation.)

Wait, you let your 6-year-old listen to SoS?

For me it’s Matt. I can’t stand him and it’s because I can see myself in him. It definitely cuts to the core of a husband/father. Matt has failed so many times that his small problems have become big problems. He hasn’t exercise proper leadership in his family in, probably, forever. Now, short of a Christmas Miracle (fingers crossed) there is no hope. Which I guess is the point… Without THE Christmas Miracle there has never been any hope for any of us. It’s a Christmas season clarion call to repentance and ongoing vigilance against the sinful nature.

Good argument. To counter – what could be worse than a mother turning against her own child when the child is most vulnerable?

Both Matt and Erica sin against their very nature. As do we all.

Only when he gets up at 6 o’clock to go to men’s prayer breakfast with me. It’s certainly better than some other things I have let him imbibe.

My older kids (5-11yo) have occasionally been allowed to listen as well. Usually to regular episodes (with sketches), rather than Saga episodes. Sometimes I’ve had to turn it off and listen later.

About 30 minutes ago, it occurred to me that we’re in different time zones, so I only have to wait until 11. Ha!

Lol. How do you know I didn’t cheat? I’ve got the password…

I didn’t.

But maybe I should cheat and put it up here to put @Jay_Simon out of his misery.

I’m guessing I’d have to increase my support to get the password…

The password yes. A lot more. But my blessing for what is about to happen? No. Merry Christmas, @Jay_Simon. :gift:
