Very good post. It shows how objectors to church discipline of a pastor think. I’m sure there are always some people who object.
It’s common to object to proceedings by saying, “We don’t know the details.” There, especially, we have to trust the authorities. If a jury finds someone guilty, and you don’t know the facts of the case, how could you object to the verdict? And they are just a group of 9 random people, not expert or elected.
Another way to answer the “We don’t know the details” is to ask who is keeping the details secret. It turns out it is usually the person being accused of wrongdoing who is keeping them secret. I doubt here that the disciplined pastor would consent to the public knowing the details of his case.
