New Warhorn Media post by Josh Congrove:
I think it is good to challenge thought leaders like Wilson to not draw with too wide of brush strokes. But my general sense after reading this was that the author is missing the forest for the trees, or straining at gnats. For example, just the final paragraph or two demonstrate, if I’m reading it correctly, a failure to discern the significant differences between a face and an arm along with the significant differences between a church service and a barber shop. If these sorts of distinctions aren’t obvious to the author, then I don’t think Wilson’s main points in this debate, which his rhetoric assumes (rightly, in my opinion) to be obvious, will be understood.
Sorry brother, but simply pointing out the obvious differences between, for example, a worship service and a barber shop, or an arm and a face, does nothing to change the logic of what pastor Wilson is saying.
If covering your face breaks the third commandment, then it breaks the third commandment. It doesn’t matter where you are. A worship service is not a magical place where suddenly the 10 commandments are totally different.
