And if I might add: I will ‘grow my no’, be it to my wife, my session, my church, or my Presbytery. The absence of the use of this word is at the root of a lot of the difficulties clergy and church leaderships face.

And if I might add again:
I will be upfront, to prospective converts, new converts and established believers alike, about the cost of discipleship; being aware that it will fall in different ways for different people. I will not shy away from Bonhoeffer’s dictum, that “When Christ calls a man, He bids him come and die”.
