I was thankful for this. I’m going to lay some cards on the table. I had a lot of pride towards looking down on Charlie for a while for different reasons. Since the 2024 election I have been more aware and appreciative of his work. He had a trajectory of being more and more upfront about his faith in Jesus Christ and witnessing to those who are lost. He loved Marriage, family and fruitfulness. He was on a podcast called “whatever” where he tried to convince a bunch of Only fans models and pornographers to repent and follow Jesus. One of the things that stood out to me was how you can tell he is trying to look them in the eyes or not at all. He is guarding his eyes as some of them were inappropriately dressed. His testimony on marriage and fatherhood softened these hardened women.
When he was murdered it reminded me of my theological snobbery. God was exceedingly pleased to take a person like Charlie Kirk who was not Reformed or Calvinistic and yet used him simply because he was willing to go and be faithful. It reminded me of all the ways that I condition my obedience and how truly afraid or even ashamed I am of these beautiful truths of God’s word. I pray that God in his wisdom will bring about much repentance and faith through the death of Charlie Kirk. Especially in me.
