What an amazing prophet your father was. It’s rare for a man, even Christian man, to write with such care and love, without condescension, and yet still speak prophetically. We need hundreds of men like that today. Thanks for sharing.

I’m certain I’ve read this before (is it in a printed collection?). I know I’ve read it because I’ve thought about it a lot over the years.
That essay is indeed prophetic. I have thought Joseph Bayly was quite prescient ever since I read Winterflight!

This could also have been written to (and for) any poor(er) ethnic minority. Its prophetic call is not limited to African-Americans.
