Join us over in Hrothgar's Hall!

Sanityville is nearing its one-year anniversary, and we will be doing an end-of-the-year retrospective in the coming weeks. We’ve been blown away by the response we’ve had this year, and we look forward to many more great conversations in the coming year. But as @jtbayly and I were looking through the list of our active members here on Sanityville, we realized something very interesting: many of our top readers are not Sanityville Citizens.

One of the best things about Sanityville is that it is a place for Christians to read and learn and be encouraged – even if they rarely (or never) post. That’s fine! We love our lurkers. :kissing_heart:

But if you’re a longtime reader, we need to let you in on a little secret: some of our best conversations are in Hrothgar’s Hall, our space for (slightly more) private discussions. Here are a few of the topics we’ve discussed in Hrothgar’s Hall this past year:

  • The “Idolatry” of The Family
  • PCA position on marriage and divorce
  • Who do you leave your children to if you and your spouse die?
  • ADHD and parenting

If you’ve forgotten all about Hrothgar’s Hall, or if you never realized we have a space for private discussion, here’s the description from our FAQ:

We hope there will be genuine Christian community here in Sanityville, to the degree that’s possible online. Real community and intimacy inevitably leads to conversations that require more privacy. Hrothgar’s Hall is a “private”* category, and only full citizens of Sanityville can view, comment or post new topics in Hrothgar’s Hall. Additionally, only citizens can create new topics in the Public Square.

  • “Private” is in scare quotes because nothing is truly private if it is online, even if Google can’t index it.

If you want to get the full benefit of Sanityville, I encourage you to become a citizen. It’s easy! Here’s what you need to do:
