I was slightly surprised by Intervarsity’s betrayal of God’s word and I would have been less surprised though if I had been reading BaylyBlog back when this was posted.
It’s a good reminder that despite the loud protestations to the contrary Christian institutions that are built today are not immune to drift, rot and decay. The New Saint Andrew’s of today can become the Wheaton of tomorrow.
Not “can,” but will. All of us must face the second law of thermodynamics and never stop reforming, starting with ourselves and our own homes and churches and schools. Love,
Yes, one can think of this in terms of “half-life”; in physics, how it takes something which is radioactive to lose half that radioactivity. Ecclesia reforma, semper reformanda. What half-life also explains is why something we might have written off entirely, can still, on occasion, “pull something good out of the box”.
