ESV: the complementarian subversion - Warhorn Media

I didn’t see this post to SanityVille, but it’s a great read.

Yeah. Not sure how that got missed. Thanks for posting it.

I think this is one of the most important things for people to read today.

With all the concerns about the ESV, I have come across a passage that has to do with sexuality and fruitfulness that the ESV is superior to even the NASB

Psalm 127:5 “Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them!” ESV
“Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.” NASB
I went back and looked at the Hebrew, and the verb is active, not passive. I wonder why so many translations, even KJV, translated it as passive. Fruitfulness is a command that we are to obey, not have it just fall on our laps.

I am not undermining all the concerns that have been unearthed already, but just want to share this bright spot.

Appreciate all your works,

Thanks for pointing that out. Part of the trouble is that it doesn’t seem that there is any one English translation that always gets it right, which is a good argument for more pastors and laymen to get at least a working knowledge of the original languages.

Currently adding that to my ever-growing “to do” list…
