Also, Aaron, we support PresTrump in election where it’s a choice between two, whereas appointments allow PresTrump the entire country to choose from. Anyhow, well said. Love,
I have been led to understand that the constitutionality of these laws has long been suspect though never tested in the courts as far as I know.
What we’ve seen over the past two days is howls of pain over anyone daring to question PresTrump’s nominees. Groupthink is alive and well. When paying off a woman to sign an NDA and adulteries and a child born out of wedlock and three marriages, all by a confessing Christian; and this man then, while being commended by his pastor, blindsides the White House in some of the details… Then Christians declare it ALL to be immaterial to the man’s qualifications and the wisdom of his moving inside the Beltway and assuming one of the most powerful positions in the world?
I cede the floor to MAGA’s gentlemen and gentlewomen.
This is not going to end well. Some of Trump’s other proposed appointments do raise questions.
NPR is truthful about pills killing babies. Pills are the main murder weapon in America. Pills slaughter millions of U.S. babies each year. Christians take abortifacient pills as often as worldings, but pastors and pro-lifers are silent.
Pills are now the main murder weapon used to commit abortion, and birth control pills are included. Remember Scripture promises us that the ground will reveal all its blood.
After reading all the angry comments below demanding that I not express my judgment that Mr. Hegseth should not become our SecDef, I think the wise among us are at the point of having to admit that some MAGA men have decided their votes for PresTrump commit them to forsaking our Lord and His Law in the public square. I can understand how they would fall into this, but it’s quite sad.
Yesterday listening to Harry Blamires’ excellent “The Christian Mind” (which I’d read when I was young) on how calls for loyalty are usually calls not to oppose sin, I thought of Johnson’s observation that patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel. In the frequent use of both loyalty and patriotism to justify silence in the presence of evil, they’re a matched pair. I don’t in any way regret voting for PresTrump and I know both loyalty and patriotism are often good, but I abominate this “my MAGA world right or wrong” groupthink which is corrupting the simpleminded among us. Love,
I mostly haven’t been following Trump’s nominations to the level of detail to have a real opinion on them, but Trump’s biggest flaw in his first term was clearly his staffing. I will say that it seems that at the very least he is making different staffing mistakes this time around, so I’m heartened by that, at least.
For every 32 veterans, we pay one federal worker $106,000 per year to care for them. Ask your family vet what they do for him?
Men, can you imagine leaving it to your wife to fight to keep a man out of her bathroom? This is our House Republican men. They can’t bring themselves to act to keep men out of their House women’s bathrooms, so the women have to fight the man themselves.
One commenter on media responded to post below about Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC) having to fight to keep trans out of House womens bathroom saying “trans woman is a woman, not a man.” To which I responded:
No. From the beginning, God made each of us male or female, and that’s who we are until we stand before Him on Judgment Day. Then one of the things we will answer for is our obedience to, and stewardship of, this sexual personhood He made us.
Surgical and hormonal mutilation of our bodies does nothing to change our sex. God assigns it. We don’t.

Nature worship bears hideous fruit, physically and morally. God has ordained it so.
We and our children have not chosen LGBTQism, but God has smeared it all over us. It is His decision, not ours. His choice, not ours. And the fact that we glory in it is also his judgment on us.
He has given us over to shamelessness.

John Milton, then, was not merely a hired pen of the Republic but its principled supporter. He began his service believing in the possibility that, in the Commonwealth, he was helping to build God’s kingdom on earth. Yet, over the course of his many years’ unflinching service to the Republic and subsequently to Oliver Cromwell as its Lord Protector, Milton’s optimism drained out of him slowly but surely like sap from an injured tree. In 1641, as Christopher Hill points out, Milton was full of millenarian hope and wrote of Christ’s return in terms of a ‘shortly expected king’…

It is a peculiarly English …confusion of thought to assume that the pursuit of learning is somehow of necessity a less secular activity than the pursuit of wealth.

House Speaker Mike Johnson just announced “All single-sex facilities in the Capitol and House Office Buildings—such as restrooms, changing rooms, and locker rooms—are reserved for individuals of that biological sex."
