Yes, that’s partly true, but ever since 9/11, we have given over civil liberties to fighting “terrorism,” and all of that is under Homeland Security which is the real problem. If, that is, we still believe in liberty, and not just security. Until we repeal the Deep State’s humongous assumption of authority over citizens post-9/11 which we all were complicit in, they will grow.

It’s a donkey who speaks truth, but he’s right. Now show me one single Reformed father who is as straightforward about transexuality. Many Reformed fathers have children who have gone transexual.

He brings up a point I don’t think I’ve considered before. Whenever people talk about compassion, it’s always for the adolescent in question, and usually compassion is a euphemism for affirmation.
No one talks about compassion for the parents who are left reeling and wondering, ‘what on earth has happened?’

Fine to have any race in authority, but sex? Everyone should prefer a man. Would we honor/submit to woman Pres Harris? Of course. But this would be denial of God’s Order of Creation and national shame. Isaiah 3

SpeakerJohnson trying to shut up talk about VPHarris being a woman is similar to PresTrump removing the anti-abortion plank from the Republican platform. Both men are realists and politics is indeed the art of the possible. While I’m sympathetic to their positions, we Christians must confess God’s truths of life/sex publicly. Is this not what it means to be salt and light?
Over the past 50 years there’s been a radical decline in Christians confessing the Biblical doctrines of life/sex publicly. Such a decline that now they’re only private truths.
But here’s the thing: private truths die. It’s time to revivify our private truths to public witness. We must stop hiding all those potent Biblical truths we are presently hiding from social media. God didn’t make us His lights so we would crawl under bushels.
14 yrs ago planted bare root peach tree. Grew & grew but no peaches. Until this yr. Now bushels & bushels.
God put fruitfulness of man/nature at heart of Creation’s DNA.
Never stop noticing/praising Him for endless multiples of fruit/tomatoes/squash/babies “filling the earth.” Just a few of today’s harvest

Agreed - helping covenant parents having to deal with this sort of thing - strikes me as the pastoral challenge to end them all. Having children self-identifying as gay isn’t too far behind, either.

Reading God’s commands to sons of Israel thru Moses: they were to wash their clothes & abstain frm marital intimacy & not go near Mount Sinai as He met w/Moses. Found myself bristling at particularity of His Instructions (Exodus 19). Wondered if I would have obeyed Him?

Wonder if there’s something we can present to our Heavenly Father other than our confession of our rebellious spirits, and pleading that He make us new? Who can heal our wicked hearts but God?

Senator Vance’s views raise some questions, in my own mind; as to if, and then how, we should address this within our own communities of faith:

I don’t know how common deliberate childlessness is within our own ranks. I do see younger Christian couples delaying family formation, though.

My perception is that Christian families are larger than families outside the faith, comparing like with like, but not much larger.

Some of those ‘crazy cat ladies’ will be found in our own communities of faith. And their male equivalents as well!

The command of God was not to have a couple children, but to “be fruitful.” Not to add, but to “multiply.” Not to maintain population by having 2.1 children, but to “fill the earth.” Until God’s people obey God’s commands, rather than their own mincing versions of those commands which comport with their own desires, we cannot say we are obeying God. In fact, our two children are disobedience. Or rather, rebellion against God’s Creation Mandates.
Well yes, all our congregations have always had within them those who are “eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb; and …eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and …eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven.” We know each of these subsets and cover the first two with compassionate modesty while the third we honor and respect. Take the Apostle Paul, for instance.
But having said that, we also are embarrassed and turn our eyes away from those who are shameless in their shame brought upon them by different reasons: consider Simone de Beauvoir and Hillary Clinton, but also that horrorible womyn fawned over by the world whose name is Taylor Swift. Note carefully the difference between the first two, and the third. Thoughts?
