Last night, many of us had the joy of joining in the ordination of the first elders of Christ the King in Evansville, Indiana. With elders in place, this work became a particular church. Church planting is hard work, so when a church ordains its own elders, it’s a milestone. This is the work of the Lord and we praise Him for it.

Atlantic just ran a piece by fed judge resigning because he says PresTrump is “existential threat” to democracy and the rule of law. Of course the New York Times is puffing his great magisterial act of conscience.
This man never resigned over his fellow lawyers and pols propping up slaughter of 1.5 million little babies every single year he has been a member of the federal judiciary, but now he’s saying PresTrump is a threat to “the rule of law?”
The guy is a gross hypocrite and should be shamed for not resigning in defense of our nation’s babies. This is the precise place where the rule of law is utterly destroyed in America today, and has been all those decades this man has been sitting on his bench.
I don’t point this out in any slightest partisan way, but as a warning to him and anyone tempted to honor him. All those who have participated in any slightest way in keeping the baby slaughter going, and not condemning it, need to stop and realize that God has warned us “It is appointed unto man once to die, and after that the judgment” and “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God” (Hebrews 9:2; ).
Can you murder someone who is in the process of committing suicide? Germany has been destroying her own energy infrastructure at a far faster clip than the Ukrainians could manage.
Anyway it was clear from the beginning that Russia didn’t blow up her own pipeline (either Russia or Germany could have just turned it off with the lever) so this was an attack on Germany. Does Germany even care to hold anyone to account for this?
Maybe not, but public shaming is good.

Endless talk of loyalty to family, nation, and race among young men today. Good for them wanting to keep commitments their parents betrayed, but Jesus kept warning against these loyalties:
"While He was still speaking to the crowds, behold, His mother and brothers were standing outside, seeking to speak to Him. Someone said to Him, ‘Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside seeking to speak to You.’
“But Jesus answered the one who was telling Him and said, 'Who is My mother and who are My brothers? And stretching out His hand toward His disciples, He said, ‘Behold My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother.’” (Matthew 12:46-49)

Endless talk of loyalty to family, nation, and race among young men today. Good for them wanting to keep commitments their parents betrayed, but John the Baptist was warning against I/me/mine nativism:
“…and do not suppose that you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father’; for I say to you that from these stones God is able to raise up children to Abraham. The axe is already laid at the root of the trees; therefore every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.” (Matthew 3:9-10)

Another warning against I/me/mine natavism:

Christ’s reply is so far from assenting to this female voice, that it contains an indirect reproof.
Nay, rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God. We see that Christ treats almost as a matter of indifference that point on which the woman had set a high value.

We now see the difference between Christ’s reply and the woman’s commendation; for the blessedness, which she had limited to his own relatives, is a favor which he offers freely to all.

Among God’s people on this Lord’s Day, keep in mind how easily love of self displaces love of the brethren. Let us give our best attention and care to those we think can do nothing for us. This is love of Jesus.

Don’t say “partner” when you can say “husband” or “wife.” Don’t say “parent” when you can say “father” or “mother.” Don’t say “child” when you can say “boy” or “girl,” “son” or “daughter.” Re-sex neutered language. Be salt and light.
