No. Patriarchy is the name of the warp and woof of human society. As the non-Christian sociology professor at NYU, Dr. Steven Goldberg, so pungently demonstrated in his work The Inevitability of Patriarchy, the biological differences between men and women always produce male dominance in society. When he reissued that book 26 years later to refute the academic mob which had arisen to denounce him and his thesis, he retitled the work Why Men Rule: A Theory of Male Dominance.
Today’s egalitarianism is equivalent to ordering society on the notion that we are all monopods. No matter that we have two legs! T’were more academically fashionable for all of us to hop around on one foot. Indeed, it must be the left foot, since levo-oppression must be rectified by a permanent preference - nay, a governmentally imposed public policy - for hopping around on the left leg only.
This wedding of ostensibly evangelical conviction with egalitarian posturing in Bible translation and ecclesiology (e.g. the ordination of women is de rigueur in most of what claims to be evangelical nowadays) will soon lead to wholesale apostasy in theology proper. Egalitarianism is a denial of the Bible’s anthropology. And, because of the fact of the Incarnation, any error in Biblical anthropology leads straightway to corresponding mistakes in the Bible’s revelation of God Himself.
You know, I think it’s theology proper, and that the real focus of attacks upon patriarchy within the race of man is not kings, pastors, elders, husbands, and fathers, but God the Father Almighty. What do you say, dear brother? With love,
Yes, indeedy. Our heavenly Father “lurks” behind every authority found within mankind. That’s why/how He has so designed the cosmos that it is impossible to avoid His shadow - or rather the multitude of shadows - He casts over every nook and cranny of the creation.
The heavens proclaim the glory of God,
and the firmament hows the work of His hands.
Day unto day pours forth speech,
and night unto night reveals knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.
