I don’t mind this, and the numbers indicate you could well be right, but I’m guessing that’s not all there is to it given the other top changes they’ve made. Furthermore, why didn’t they change it to “sired?” Smile. Love,

Hi Joseph Bayly, I´m a native Spanish speaker and I´ve been researching about the different English Bible versions for a long time. In my humble opinion, after seeing, comparing ang deep-research the main English versions, I must say that I´m completely agreed with you Joseph; the NKJV has become, after my humble deep-research, in my favorite, study, devocional and daily reading Bible and I don´t think I will switch to another English Bible version in a long time.

Ligonier discontinued the Reformation Study Bible in NKJV (boo), so when this one goes I’ll have to look around for a new study bible. Maybe Beeke’s KJV Reformation Heritage…
Though, as has been mentioned here, the NKJV doesn’t get 1 Cor 6:9-10 right. A modern KJV is needed in this regard.
I have never had a reader Bible, but I have encountered the problem of being distracted by so many cross references and chapter breaks. The only solution I had thought of so far was to try and ignore all footnotes. But the only time that works is when I am reading the Bible while sleepy, which defeats the purpose of being engaged.
Just like Pastor McNeilly said, a decoration Bible is worthless. I want to be engrossed in reading the Bible. At this point, several years after the original post, I don’t know if there are any faithful reader Bibles left (an unfaithful reader Bible wouldn’t help anything…) All the same, this conversation makes me interested in getting a reader Bible because because it can take away some of the distractions I encounter with regular Bibles.
