Has anyone read Randy Alcorn’s book on Heaven? What is your opinion of it? Worth reading?
We used it as a base for a church Bible study on heaven. He covers a lot of ground many Christians haven’t thought of, and he’s usually pretty good about admitting where he’s conceptualising beyond scripture. Overall, it’s a book I’d recommend. It’s fairly long, so it might not be the most helpful for church members (unless they’re really interested).
He also includes a lot of his fiction throughout by way of illustration. The book would be half the length without that, and I didn’t find it really added to anything.
It’s been a number of years since reading it through (10+). Though, since that initial reading, I’ve used it from time to time as a topical resource. It’s worth reading. He’s thoughtful on the various passages concerning heaven.
