Easter Readings

(Keith D Knowlden) #1

Now that advent is over, we are looking to start preparing for Easter. Does anyone have a recommended series of readings or devotionals that lead up to Easter? Our kids are 8, 5 & 3…

Thanks!

crivoice.org has a lectionary for the entire church year. We’ve used it for Advent/Jesse Tree and through Christmas and Epiphany the last couple years.

I know it’s sort of Anglicany to answer your question like this but here goes . . .

The entire purpose of the classical lectionaries leading up to Easter, namely the Sundays in Lent, are one way to answer your question.

Here’s a link to the Revised Common Lectionary. It’s a three year lectionary, so you’ll get a different set of readings depending on if you’re looking at Year A, B, or C. Be sure to check out the lessons for Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil.

Another source for this lectionary is here.
