Wayne Grudem told World he was getting his ESV guys together in Wheaton this July to look at a few things in the ESV. He said out of 100 or so suggestions, "we’ll accept 30 or 40 of those… Just little tweaks to the wording. Very small changes—hardly noticeable.”
No one would ever call allowing God’s words “worldly fables fit only for old women” (1Timothy 4:7) back into the ESV a “little tweak” or “small change.” So this brazen censorship of God they’ll leave in place.
No one would ever call allowing God’s words “man” and “woman” back into 1Corinthians 11 a little tweak. So this too they’ll leave in place.
The ESV is so quiveringly bad in their silencing God’s words that have male/female semantic meaning component. “What would people think of us!?!?”

About “Christian Nationalism,” a parallel might be helpful. My wife and I used to say we home schooled but weren’t “Home Schoolers.”
Similarly, we claim the Lordship of Jesus Christ over all creation, but we are not Christian Nationalists. As the Barmen Declaration witnessed so well, Christ’s Church cannot stoop to political partisanship.
Inexorably, She will be, shall we say, “owned.”

An encouraging article. I still often find discussions of the sexes in Christian circles to be held as if they are part of “human flourishing” and an illustration of Christ and the Church (important in itself).
I don’t see a recognition that without the sexes as God ordained them, we wouldn’t even have the gospel. We would be like the angels, independently created and unable to be redeemed through Christ’s one sacrifice.

Yes, unless we return to Genesis (Creation Mandates, etc.) plus the doctrine of the Fall as opened up in Romans and 1Corinthians, the rebellion of the church will only grow. Thanks for the encouragement, dear brother.

I just can’t get over the fact that Democrats were burning this country down a mere four years ago, and Molly Ball’s 2020 election fortification victory lap article said they were ready to do it again if Trump won. And they just publish this crap like none of us remember that happened.

Michael Brown is a commentator in the Pentecostal neck of the woods, but someone “you can do business with”. His recent column, encouraging people to vote for Trump, also acknowledged that the Republican Party had watered down its pro-family and pro-life viewpoints. “Gentle parenting” is neither parenting nor gentle. It’s not gentle b/c manipulation is oppressive and it’s not parenting b/c God is The Father Almighty Who “scourges every son whom He loves” (Heb 12:6).
Any father who knows his Heavenly Father’s love will scourge every son he himself loves.

So we’ve arrived at a day when men supporting women’s slaughter of babies in their wombs are the men who truly respect women and are our gentlemen.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, even with the party platform of Republicans backing off their protection of the unborn, the Democrats are full on with their bloodlust. The slaughter of the unborn. Child sacrifice to Molech is their defining commitment. Think abt that, carefully.

Anyhow, after posting the piece Brother Maurina wrote on the Waldensians you will find two posts below, he added the following interesting comments: “Every so often I like to remind our Dutch brothers that the Italians brought the gospel to the Netherlands fifteen centuries ago, and that five centuries ago, John Calvin first learned of sovereign grace while he was in what today we would call “law school” from his landlord, a Waldensian cloth merchant. Calvin’s cousin who made a new translation of the Bible into then-modern French had the money for that project raised by Waldensians in what is today northwest Italy.”
