Every year, Bloomington’s civil authorities continue to pour our taxpaying dollars into the coffers of the merchants of death who, for generations, have been living high on the hog off shedding babies’ blood. Now they’ve added “gender-affirming” hormonal treatments to their products. And again, Scott Tibbs raises his Christian conscience opposing and shaming them.

But of course, Bloomington is shameless and has elected civil authorities like themselves. So the band plays on… https://open.substack.com/pub/conservatibbs/p/no-corporate-welfare-for-the-merchants?r=b70nr&utm_campaign=post-expanded-share&utm_medium=web

Rome’s emporers doled out bread and put on gladiator battles. Juvenal called this pacification policy “bread and circuses.”

Men today aren’t losers primarily b/c of bad doctrine. They’re losers b/c they’re fed and entertained. Sports r vicarious victories & FPS/MOBA virtual bloodshed.

NASB95: "But the sons of Israel were fruitful and [fn]increased greatly, and multiplied, and became exceedingly mighty, so that the land was filled with them. (Exodus 1:7)

Footnote: literally “swarmed”

Give the readers of God’s Word *His* words.

“Swarmed” is raw, visceral, wild. A swarm of locusts. A swarm of bees.

When beehives get too big, they swarm. When churches split, New England Puritans called it a “swarm.”

Being “fruitful,” “swarming,” “multiplying,” and “filling” the earth are what God commanded both nature and man.

Now a man from the house of Levi went and [fn]married a daughter of Levi. (Exodus 2:1)
Footnote: literally “took”

We’ll never return to God’s creation order of Adam first, then Eve, if we’re forevermore hiding and deleting God’s words revealing it.

“Take” does indicate “marriage,” but also the male thrust or initiative.

Sure, it sounds embarrassing, but God is the One who inspired that word. Which is more important: that we show our desire to clean up God’s words for the sake of our daughters’ tender sensibilities, or that we show God our unequivocal joy in every last word He Himself inspired?

Aren’t all those romance novels and Hallmark movies about a man taking a woman?

Give us God’s words in God’s Word.
