Bayly's daily

Fathers and mothers, beware!
“a survey released this month by Pew Research Center …found that nearly a third of U.S. teens use chatbots daily.”

Listen to Dad’s parable with your family. As we meditate on our Lord’s birth in Bethlehem, let us consider what sort of welcome we would give to Jesus today. Merry Christmas!

“Lo, He abhors not the Virgin’s womb.”

Think abt it. Sustaining His life, woman’s womb and breasts were infinitely exalted by our Lord.

The Christian honors motherhood.

What drove the priests and scribes to stone Stephen? Stephen's words which drove the priests to stone him - Warhorn Media

This is a “Sorry but…”
Can young men stop presenting themselves as the victim of every story they tell? Either say “sorry” or say “everyone’s against me.” Not both together.

Victimhood is the currency of 21st century American life. If we want to get out of this mess, some dads are going to have to start saying “no” to a wide variety of sob stories.

Slightly changing topics, the late great Voddie Baucham once asked, why, if sports build character, don’t elite athletes have more character than anyone? That seems like a good question when things like this happen.

Agreed … and we need to make sure that we don’t “play the victim” ourselves when things go awry or don’t go our way.

Prime has an abridged version of “It’s a Wonderful Life” w/much of the good stuff cut. It’s not a leftist conspiracy. It’s copyright law.

Avoid the abridged version.

Agreed, and we need to make sure we rebuke young men playing the victim instead of acting like we don’t know this is their habit and avoiding receiving their ire and Boomers-caused-it-all whining when we tall them to stop it.

Remember Scripture commands us to have nothing to do with the evil deeds of darkness, but the second half of that command is to expose them.

Mary Lee and I both grew up in homes where our fathers banned TV. Dad Bayly would explain by asking, “Why would anyone want to invite that huckster into his living room?”

Note sure which is worse, Roman Catholic Church’s worship and prayers to her or Church of England putting out video saying she is main person in Christmas account. Hearing either, blessed Mary would blush and go into hiding.

But note it’s a woman priestess marketing this blasphemy.

Scripture is manly, declaring “it was not adam (man) who was deceived, but the woman.” When we oppose heresies promoted by woman, but refuse to oppose woman in authority over man, we are faithless.

And permit me to note I am not Donald Trump and he most certainly does not approve of this message.

This is encouraging. V.P. Vance was quite right in his rebuke of the EU.

Religious freedom and speech freedom are inextricably linked. Even a once-over-lightly reading of the history recorded in the New Testament makes this clear. “You killed Him.”

Exactly right, and especially helpful to point out its truth with respect to both church and society

Predators find and marry victims.

Shysters find and prey on marks.

Shysters don’t waste time on wise men. They attach themselves to the naive.

Sadly, when shepherds are lazy, predators and shysters find the church a good feeding trough.

Be still, my soul; the Lord is on thy side;
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In ev’ry change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul; thy best, thy heav’nly, friend
Thro’ thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul; thy God doth undertake
To guide the future as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul; the waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.

Be still, my soul, tho’ dearest friends depart
And all is darkened in the vale of tears;
Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart,
Who comes to soothe thy sorrow and thy fears.
Be still, my soul; thy Jesus can repay
From His own fullness all He takes away.

Be still, my soul; the hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord,
When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul; when change and tears are past
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.
