New camera verifies photo hasn’t been altered.
If only we could buy a Bible translation that verifies God’s Word hasn’t been altered.
The alterations and deletions of thousands of God’s words in the Bible destroy God’s truth.
We don’t really want that, do we? https://roc.camera/
Reading Gospels, I’m struck by utter directness and simplicity of Jesus’ preaching. Same w/Apostles’ preaching. Read Peter’s sermon in Acts 3.
Why did Jesus preach as He did?
“With many such parables He was speaking the word to them, so far as they were able to hear it; and He did not speak to them without a parable; but He was explaining everything privately to His own disciples” (Mark 4:43-44).
I’d never noticed “so far as they were able to hear it.”
Wondering how far I would have been able to hear Him…
Well, they eventually understood it, loud & clear … (John 6:60-66).
Excellent analysis of populist vs elite war across Western World today. Many young conservative Reformed men today claim to be Biblical, but fact is their polemics have mostly to do with their populism.
Author wrong on # of things that Christians will easily recognize (e.g. punishment). Still very helpful. Populism fast and slow - by Joseph Heath - In Due Course
Complete this sentence: I was glad when they said unto me…
I/me/mine nativism contradicts life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ
Christians need to explain laws against sodomy/lesbianism/trans are not politics, but love. Nothing is more destructive physically/mentally/spiritually than man’s denial of his sexuality assigned him by God.
Protect your neighbor from sexual suicide. Love your neighbor.
Jesus was “saying, ‘Watch out! Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod’.”
Religious leaders are always being seduced by the political temptation. “We have great influence with Herod! He listens to us! Look at the magnificent temple his father built us! He’s establishing the true religion!”
Jesus says to His disciples, “Watch out! Beware of the corruptive influence of your religious and political authorities together.” His warning stands firm today.
Back in the eighties at a pro-life meeting, fellow anti-abortionist Pastor Larry Allen brought us to attention with the statement, “Abortion is not a choice. It is God’s judgment.”
Same with the church’s sterility. We haven’t chosen money over children. God has given us over to fruitlessness, and by our fruitlessness you shall know us.
When God judges a people, he renders them fruitless.
Meanwhile, God blesses immigrants with children.
Speaking of children, Mary Lee and I have had a home filled with joy this past week. Our house has been noisy and busy with children, old and young, as we are visited by grandchildren and their friends. (Father and mother are far off celebrating their 20th.)
A home filled with children is a home filled with joy, and last night’s happiness was our kitchen island covered with severed pumpkin parts and seeds from all the pumpkins being carved. Afterwards we took them outside and lit the candles. (Zion is taking the pic.)
You roasted the seeds right?
Best part of pumpkin carving night!
“All types of relationships with AI will be normalized, including spiritual, romantic, and sexual relationships.” (HTAndrew)
Sycophancy is pervasive across man/chatbot exchanges, so for some time now I’ve thought most pastors will become obsolete. Flattering chatbots will be the preferred counselors and AI will produce sermons more pleasing to congregants than even Keller’s stuff.
Why pay a guy when chatbots are free?

Eli Pariser’s conclusion following attendance at AI superconference, The Curve”
“at the end of the day, many of the questions all of this [e.g. AI & transhumanism] raises are spiritual — and that we’ll need spiritual voices to make sense of it. I think that’s part of why Joe Allen resonated so much — he was speaking in a moral and spiritual tone that few others did”

While we’re on the subject of AI displacing pastors, without being specific, what socials denizens of Christian political harangues seem almost never to be capable of is recognizing discrete rights and wrongs in same person and position and article. It’s not simply their almost constant NETR blinders, but an inability to see beyond their fundamental “goodies and baddies” sorting behavior. In other words, among them judiciousness is nonexistent.
Came to this the other day when reading an unbeliever’s article that was quite perceptive and helpful, and in the middle he gave himself to a mini-rant against something Scripture reveals is good and commands of us. Immediately I thought, “well, right there he is entirely wrong because he doesn’t honor or believe God’s Word.” But then I thought, “Uh-oh, other Christians won’t think that. They’ll be intimidated by his intense condemnation of God’s command, and give way even more to our society’s attack upon that moral deed commanded by God.”
Then I thought further and realized Christians have not been taught to make careful distinctions between good and evil. We refuse to do the “hard work” of teaching or learning this, so reading a part of a piece that condemns a command given by God in His Word carries the day with us when it is conveyed in an article with so much truth and helpfulness.
This just to point out that Christians today can’t think or write or speak because they have refused to do the hard work of learning to distinguish between good and evil. We live in ghettos of conformity and the only difference between us is the nature of the ghetto we ourselves choose. NETR is only a category of the closemindedness characteristic of every last one of our ghettos.
This at a personal level: one of the most perceptive observations, from someone speaking into my life, was from someone who wasn’t a Christian. Anyone else here had that happen?

Politico poll shows ½ of America expects growth in political violence w/ ¼ of America saying it can be justified. Back when reformed chest-thumpers were going wacko over masks, violence was on horizon. Their rhetoric presaged it, so now it’s expected and has significant support.
NB: this predated death of Charlie Kirk.
Just reposted Robert George’s condemnation of that evil man whose name must not be mentioned. Kudos to George for also rebuking Carlson for platforming such evil.
Did you know across the centuries it was normal for the crusades to begin with attacks on Jews? Regularly, the men who took up the cross began their crusade by attacking their neighbors. They burned down their homes. They exiled them. They killed them.
Faithful shepherds will censure and discipline hatred of neighbors. Hatred of Jewish neighbors.
But yes, false shepherds will play footsie, and even promote, these evils.
Such men must be silenced. With all authority.
