It is You who has kept my soul from the pit of nothingness, for You have cast all my sins behind Your back. -Isaiah 38:17
Ah yes.
BTW, not his or her or their sins, but my sins.

Difference between unbelievers and Christians is their view of right and wrong.

Unbelievers are always right. Just ask them.

Christians are forevermore wrong. Ask us how we handle it and what we do about it.

The Christian who’s always right is always wrong. He just fools himself. Is he really a Christian?

One wonders, doesn’t one?

King David was “a man after God’s Own heart,” and this is how he spoke to God:

“Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.” -Psalm 51:1-3

Don’t want to force anything on anyone. It is God Who gives us the ability to hear exhortations and act on them.

That said, my dear Mary Lee and I just listened to Pastor Andy Halsey’s sermon on Deut. 31 at Christ Church, Columbus, Indiana. Very helpful.

Something on how to read the Bible that I trust will be helpful.

“When I read Scripture, for decades any text that shows the distinction between the true and false shepherd I’ve been marking “FS.” On my Kindle are many hundreds of them. Before I started reading on Kindle, I’d filled the margins of several Bibles with this and similar notations.

“When I was ordained, I figured it was my obligation to grow in knowledge of the responsibilities and temptations intrinsic to pastoral ministry; and thus the start of this habit continued now forty-two years.

“The other day, I found and marked a new one I’d never noticed before…”

NYT on libs’ desperate search for lib podcasters to compete w/Rogan et al.

“Bro-casters …talk to people without talking down to them. And in a world where authority of all kinds (medical, professorial, journalistic, political) is in decline… this precise kind of realness matters. Authenticity… is what fills the void when authority dies.”

Andrew Schultz says he’s in favor of “trans” men playing in women’s sports b/c "then women will know what White people went through when we let Black people play sports.”

Such an important skill for pastors…especially those of us who lean into the authority of the pastoral office.

Anyone who leans into their God-delegated authority is dead in the water. Smile and love,

Wish he’d said, “Peaceful protests will be welcomed; lawless protests will be met with heavy force.”

Government financing of Ivy League budgets typically exceeds 60%. Yale w/$41 billion endowment receives 67.5% of revenue from federal funding, Columbia 64.5%, Dartmouth 64%. Year after year, decade after decade.
Don’t cut their funding.
Nationalize them.
We the people bought and paid for them.

Here we see contrast between Presbyterian Church in America whose Revoice is conceived/birthed by its Covenant Theological Seminary, and Southern Baptists.
Baptists are manly.
Presbyterians are effeminate.
Try to imagine PCA’s Kellerites calling for repeal of Obergefell.

An interesting compare-and-contrast here …

Ballymena: Fireworks thrown at police in second night of disorder - BBC News

This funding of genocidal Planned Parenthood has been going on many years. Christians’ tax dollars taken by Bloomington & given to genocidal Planned Parenthood. Dear brother Scott Tibbs our lonely, pertinacious witness: City government gives corporate welfare to the merchants of death

Never thought I’d use these two names in same sentence, but I’m proud of Bryan Chapell and Elon Musk. Now if only we could make it three…

Elon Musk, and now Newsboys Michael Tait. What God hath wrought, to His Own glory.

Two wonderful statements in it you must not miss:

“Sin is a terrible thing, taking us where we don’t want to go; keeping us longer than we want to stay; and costing us more than we want to pay.”

“it crushes me to think that someone would lose or choose not to pursue faith and trust in Jesus because I have been a horrible representative of Him-for He alone is ultimately the only hope for any of us.”
