A Psalm for Easter

Let’s celebrate Easter
with the rite
of laughter.
Christ died and rose
and lives.
Laugh like a woman
who holds her first baby.
Our enemy death
will soon be destroyed.
Laugh like a man
who finds he doesn’t have cancer
or does but now there’s a cure.
Christ opened wide the door of heaven.
Laugh like children
at Disneyland’s gates.
This world is owned by God
and He’ll return to rule.
Laugh like a man
who walks away uninjured
from a wreck
in which his car was totaled.
Laugh
as if all the people in the whole world
were invited to a picnic
and then invite them.

Weeks ago, I posted this:

If your husband hits you or kicks you, take it straight to the elders. Don’t hesitate. They are there to protect the flock from one another. Your submission to them is not rebellion against your husband, although he may tell you that. No.

He must be disciplined and you must have the faith to initiate it by telling the elders of his sin.

Another thing, do not hit or kick or throw the frying pan at your husband. You are to submit to him as the Church submits to Christ.

NOW I LATER ADD THIS CLARIFICATION: My last paragraph speaking of the wife physically abusing her husband by hitting or kicking him was an acknowledgment that, in close to half of all domestic violence cases between husbands and wives, it is the wife who initiates violence. This must not be. She is to submit to her husband—not abuse him.

Anyone thinking that this means the wife should submit to him physically abusing her needs to go back to the main point of the post, which is that a wife physically attacked needs to go to the elders (who then need to lead her directly to taking it to the civil authorities for reporting as the crime it is).

The best way to get a wife to report her husband’s crimes against herself or her children is to have the mediating authority of church authority take her to the civil authority. This is what the church has done historically, and needs to be restored. Read about Calvin’s Geneva and how often the elders/pastors/consistory took crimes and those who committed them to the city fathers.

Here Hanson demonstrates why PresTrump is disciplining elitist, filthy-rich universities such as Harvard, sitting on $50,000,000,000 endowment. Neutered Bibles have robbed us of the male principle, producing neutered pastors, Christians, and churches Neutered Bibles - Warhorn Media

Lane Dennis/@crossway publish ESV and just announced latest product—a new translation of Calvin’s Institutes.

They criticize Battles edition for imputing “Neo-Orthodox” view of Scripture to Calvin, but with no irony whatsoever, their new translation of Calvin will gag Calvin by removing his male inclusives. Crossway is pathetic in their attempts to show themselves au courant in all language matters—particularly vigorously deleting the male inclusive.

Their new translation of Calvin will itself be entirely Neo-Orthodox precisely at the same time as they brag about it being needed because they oppose Neo-Orthodoxy. They say that, in order to do a better job of communicating Calvin’s meaning, they must delete his words.

Decades ago when I wrote for them and got a copy of my manuscript back with all my male inclusives deleted by their editor, I realized Crossway despises God’s male inclusive. Never forget that.

I told them they had to put my male inclusives back in b/c God Himself ordained the male inclusive when he named our race—male and female—“adam,” which is to say “man” (Genesis 5:2 ). (H/T to Matt)

Al and Amy Parker run a canoe camping nonprofit down in southeastern Ohio called Canoe Creation. No one better to float down a river or creek with than Al Parker. My own children and grandchildren have gone on their trips for years. Worth every penny, and godly. Check them out https://www.canoecreation.org/

Been reading Adam Engst’s TidBITS for decades. Cancelled paid subscription yesterday when Adam announced hufffed/puffed abt pulling TidBITS off X & FB. Using TidBITS for lib virtue signalling?

Uh-uh.

It’s been a good run. Thank you, Adam.

Man, oh man are libs squealing over PresTrump pulling our tax dollars out of lib union shops of higher ed. Hope it ends w/all higher ed cut off frm public monies.
Hillsdale does it w/out government money.
Why can’t Harvard?

Men saying they want 2b “held accountable” rarely want 2b held accountable. Helpful thoughts abt male accountability vs male friendship below.

Skip over lameness abt “the burden of leadership that complementarians believe husbands and church elders carry.”

Kate sent me this a few weeks back. Heartily agree with you: men desperately need friendship. Brotherhood. Camaraderie. Genuinely manly relationships.

“Chronicle” is higher ed’s publication of record. Note their use of “purge.” PresTrump’s reminds them of Stalin.

Just posted video recording (halfway down page) of our Zoom Q&A session, yesterday, with macroeconomist Rev. Dr. Jürgen von Hagen. Subjects incl. tariffs, trade balance, reserve currency, IMF, etc. WRT relations between U.S. and China, EU, UK…

“More than 30% of the U.S. auto market is governed by California’s [EV] policies”

Unacceptable. Feds should use Commerce Clause to oppose CA’s huge control over national economy. If CA EV laws are not “unduly burdening or discriminating against interstate commerce,” nothing is.

New Safe Pasture podcast: Roman Catholicism and reformed Protestants

This episode addresses conversions to Roman Catholicism, particularly among pastors and elders within the various reformed churches. The argument made is that such conversions aren’t to Rome’s doctrine, but Rome’s culture—particularly sacramentalism. https://warhornmedia.com/2025/05/04/safe-pasture-roman-catholicism-and-reformed-protestants/
